April 2025
  • We are pleased to welcome Dr. Thinh Ho Xuan to our team as a visiting researcher from Vietnamese-German University (VGU). Dr. Thinh has joined us on April 1, 2025 and will stay with us for the summer semester 2025. He will be involved in the teaching and research activities of the chair.

March 2025
  • The chair will offer five lectures during the summer semester 2025, that will all be read in presence:
    'Grundlagen der Strömungsmechanik' (BA-MB, BA-SEPM, Vl.-Nr. 134010)
    'Fortgeschrittene Strömungsmechanik' (BA-MB, Vl.-Nr. 139530)
    'Finite-Volumen-Methoden für die Simulation von Fluidströmungen' (BA-MB, Vl.-Nr. 136139)
'Grundlagen der Hydraulischen Strömungsmaschinen und Anlagen' (MA-MB, Vl.-Nr. 138140)
    'Introduction to Fluid-Flow Measurement Techniques' (MA-MB, Vl.-Nr. 138260)
The module 'Introduction to Fluid-Flow Measurement Techniques' will be read in English as part of the English master's degree Sustainable Energy Systems & Circular Process Engineering'. In addition, the specialised laboratories 'Cavitation in centrifugal pumps' and 'Numerical centrifugal pump test bench' are offered. Further information can be found here on the HSM homepage under Teaching/Lehre/Vorlesung des Lehrstuhls or Teaching/Lehre Fachlabore.

  • On 5 and 6 March 2025, the annual „Kolloquium Fluidenergiemaschinen“ (FEM-Kol.) took place at the Technical University of Darmstadt. In addition to Prof. Dr.-Ing. Skoda and Dr.-Ing. Paßmann, Mr. Tobias Gianfelice and Mr. Zhenhui Liu took part in the colloquium. Dr.-Ing. Paßmann delivered current results in his presentation titled „Kalibrierung von Mehrlochsonden zum Einsatz in dreidimensionalen Strömungen bei niedrigen Reynolds-Zahlen“ and Mr. Tobias Gianfelice delivered a talk titled „3D/1D – gekoppelte Simulation der kavitierenden Strömung in oszillierenden Verdrängerpumpen und der angeschlossenen Rohrleitung“.

  • We are pleased to welcome Mr. David Marguc to our team as a research associate on March 1, 2025. Mr. Marguc will be engaged in unsteady flow simulation (3D CFD) and local entropy evaluation for loss quantification in hydraulic flow machines.

January 2025
  • We are pleased to welcome Mr. Dominik Knickmann to our team as a research associate on January 1, 2025. Mr. Knickmann will be engaged in the developement of flow measurement technology, in particular pneumatic and hydraulic multi-hole probes.

  • We are pleased to welcome Mr. Seyedmohammad Vafaei to our team as a research associate on January 1, 2025. Mr. Vafaei will be engaged in the numerical and experimental investigation of the hydroacoustic transmission behaviour of cavitating flows in centrifugal pumps.
